Affordable Housing at Harrow Terrace, Wick

Client: M M Miller(Wick) Ltd

The site of the original Caithness Glass factory at Harrow Terrace, Wick, has been variously left derelict, and used as a general builders storage yard since the relocation of the factory to the North of Wick, this facility also now sadly closed.

Pentarq were commissioned by contractors M M Miller(Wick) Ltd to design affordable housing for Pentland Housing Association Ltd and the scheme is now well underway on site, following extensive works to clear the site from the ground contamination left behind by the former glass-making operations.

The scheme of 28 affordable housing units comprises 8No 4 bedroom and 16No 3 bedroom houses in semi-detached units, and a block of 4No 2 bedroom flats in a close-knit site layout which should promote a close community spirit.
